New patented positioning pin with x2 the precision and reduced requirements for hole shape and position

In C2.0, we believe that significant value can be found in redefining mechanical components that are based on geometrical principals invented around or before World War I. Thus, in the same year that the DIN 1 turned 100 years, we have developed a new version of this positioning pin with twice the precision and reduced requirement for hole shape and position.

The pin has a section in both ends with reduced diameter for it to align easier with the hole. This secures that it will not damage the counterpart when inserted. Also, positioning features in both ends decouple the position in X and Y and eliminate the impact of hole roundness.

This new design arises from close collaboration with our customers around improving precision. We imagine that the new dowel pin will be used in applications where precision is a crucial parameter like in production equipment, jigs, and fixtures – and most likely, many other applications.
